Question: How did you vote on the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2012?

Answer: I supported H.R. 2017, which includes federal funding for our national security priorities, such as border security, immigration enforcement, transportation security, and federal emergency management. Overall the bill provides $0.6 billion in total non-emergency funding, which is a decrease of $1.1 billion below last year’s level and $3 billion below President Obama's request.

In addition, the bill prohibits funds to transfer or release Guantanamo detainees to or within the United States. The House of Representatives passed H.R. 2017 by a vote of 231-188 on June 2. The bill now goes to the Senate.

Please stop the Airport TSA agency as they are.. It is out of control and must be a funding problem for the government. We can no longer say that the proof is no incident. This is a lame excuse for keeping the TSA. Please consider the public and not just ignore this concern. Really do what is right.
